For the 2021–2030 period, Québec will have to fill more than 1.4 million jobs, over 20% of which will be filled by immigrants. This context is prompting more and more employers to turn to international recruitment of foreign workers or to hire workers with a migrant background.

Temporary jobs that need to be filled immediately

Currently, many employers are ready to hire foreign workers for temporary positions of up to three years.

To hire the workers they need from abroad, Québec employers can participate in recruitment events. The Government of Quebec and its partners organize regular recruitment missions abroad, such as Journées Québec. By participating in these activities, you could land a virtual or live interview that could lead to a job offer.

If you receive and accept a job offer, your employer will start the procedures with the Québec government and the Canadian government to obtain the authorizations necessary for you to be hired and to stay in Québec.

Coming to live permanently in Québec

If you wish to permanently immigrate to Québec, one route is to create an account in the Arrima platform and submit a Declaration of Interest (DI) form. The DI form is filed online, free of charge. It allows you to declare your interest in immigrating to Québec at any time.

If your profile meets the invitation criteria established by the Ministry, you may receive an invitation to submit a permanent selection request.
