Economy and employment

The Capitale-Nationale region boasts an expanding economy, particularly in the service sector. The region also excels in several other sectors, particularly optics and photonics, defence, security and civil protection, video game creation and design, geospace (geomatics and business intelligence, etc.), health food, finance and insurance, life technologies and sciences, tourism as well as green and intelligent building design and construction. The proportion of jobs in the tertiary sector is greater in this region than in the rest of Québec as the Capitale-Nationale is the seat of Québec’s civil service.
